Previous blogs: Current | Blog#1 | Blog#2 Rough Around the Edges One of a kind artist doll sculptures have me thinking of new and wonderful things all the time. Trying to think of new ways to display my artwork and it was then that I realised that Australia is full of wonderful rock formations. I took a trip to a mountain (Mount Tamborine) which was a volcano some 3000 years ago. I went out to the mines there, and mined quite a few Thundereggs with my own two hands :D Here are some of the ones I dug out...
The mountain is full of wonderful agate and crystals that would work great with my dolls. I'm always trying to think of something unique I can do, and using 3000 year old agate in a mosaic or slab form with artist dolls I don't believe has been used before. Im definantyl going to give it a go. Have already been experimenting with it, and have just joined the closest Lapidary club. I must say, a girl of my size and age may look a little out of place there...... meh ^_^
